How can you be sure the Bible is trustworthy?

How can you be sure that the Bible is trustworthy?
The bible not only claims to be the Word of God, it backs up that claim with an amazing internal consistency and fulfilled prophecies. The bible also claims to be a reliable historical account of real events. It backs up those claims by appealing to eyewitness testimony and other written accounts. But there are also other pieces of historical evidence that commend the bible as trustworthy in regards to the names, places and events it describes (eg other ancient documents, archaeology) and the reliability of modern translations (eg abundant manuscript evidence). The bible also demonstrates it’s authenticity by its’ power to transform lives. But the biggest key to the trustworthiness of the bible is Jesus’ own testimony about it.

Listen to the sermon here:

Luke 1:1-4
1 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, 2 just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. 3 With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, 4 so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.
