Pastor – Chris Ekins
Chris is married to Sharon, and they have two kids (a little boy called Caleb, and a little girl called Hannah). Chris loves Jesus, teaching the Bible, fishing and soccer. He catches as many fish as he scores goals…he is a fullback.
Chris finished his Bachelor of Theology at Moore Theological College in 1996. He served on the staff of St Faith’s Anglican Church at Narrabeen from 1996-2008. And in Feb 2009 he and his family moved to Forster with 5 other mates to start CoastEC. Chris’ passion is to see people come to know Jesus and to grow in their love for him as they study God’s Word. His vision is for CoastEC to start several more churches on the Mid-North Coast of NSW.
Ministries Coordinator – Ruth Shooter
Ruth moved from EV Church on the Central Coast to join our team part time in Feb 2011. She loves the beach and all that comes with summer. She loves running, skating a sweet hill, coffee with mates, late night jam sessions around a beach fire, camping and travelling to developing countries. Her passion in life is for people to come to know Jesus in a real, personal way and find forgiveness and life through his death and resurrection, and to then be pumped to serve God with their whole life. Ruth’s main role at CoastEC is co-ordinating our ministry team leaders and helping every member of CoastEC to get involved in serving in some practical way. She also leads our music ministry, and gets beside some of our women (encouraging and equipping them for Word ministries with other women and youth). Ruth is also completing her final year of studies part time to become a registered nurse.
