TESTIFY! (Training on 26th June)

By God’s grace each one of us has a story – a personal testimony of how Jesus Christ came to be our Lord and Saviour and the difference He has made to our lives. We want to give you all the opportunity to learn how to share your personal testimony so that you will ‘always be prepared to give an answer for the reason for the hope that you have’. We’d also love to hear some of your stories at our Sunday gatherings as an encouragement to believers and a challenge to people who are still sussing Jesus out. If you’re interested in learning how to TESTIFY, Ruth is running a 1 hour session on 26th June (10am @ her place).

- Who Jesus is
- What His mission is, and
- What it means to follow Him today
You don’t need to know anything about the Bible. You won’t be asked to read aloud, pray or sing. You can ask any questions you want.
The format is pretty simple. It’s just 3 x 1 hour sessions. Come and watch a short DVD, ask any questions you’ve got, and read one of the biographies of Jesus’ life for yourself.

Parables – stories that read us

Jesus was a great teacher and one of his teaching methods was to tell parables. And parables are stories about everyday things, but they’ve got a spiritual meaning or point to make. And they’re not usually that hard to understand, but they do pack a punch because they’re stories that really read us – they put us in the spotlight and challenge us to go deeper in our understanding of ourselves and our place before God. And Jesus told heaps of them.
Between now and the end of the year we’ll be looking at a number of Jesus’ parables at our weekly church service (5pm Sundays @ Forster Public School Hall). So come and hear some parables for yourself.
You never know, they might just read you in a way you’ve never been read before. And that might make all the difference.
WEEKEND AWAY THIS WEEKEND! (15-17 OCTOBER)

Please note: No church service this Sunday! Because we’re camping down at Pacific Palms. So why don’t you grab your tent and come and join us? We’ll be taking it easy at Sandbar Caravan Park, with plenty of time to go for a surf, a fish or just chill out with some other people from CoastEC. It’s pretty much a byo thingo (even your own food). So book yourself in by calling Sandbar Caravan Park on 6554 4095.
Arrive Friday arvo/night and check out is 10am Sunday morning.
Day Trippers welcome (Saturday would be your best bet).
As far as program goes, it’s mainly hanging out with 2 things planned:
1. Late Saturday arvo we’ll gather for our church service for the weekend (including a forum/discussion about where we’re at as a church and where we’re going);
2. Sat night we’ll do a combined dinner / bbq thing (so bring some $ to chip in).

MARRIAGE COURSE – STARTS 19TH FEB!

Sharon and I are keen to support you guys in your walk with Jesus, and in your marriages. So, we’re running a 7 week marriage course to spur you on. We will only be taking 5 couples this time around, so if you’re keen – let me know asap.
The course will be on Friday nights at 7.30 after dinner – starting 19th Feb (other dates are 26 Feb, 19 Mar, 26 Mar, 9 April, 16 April, 23 April).
Cost is $30 per couple.
Rego and payment deadline: Sunday 14th Feb (not much notice, but there’s nothing like the present!)

This 7-week course is designed for married couples to invest in strengthening their marriage.
Couples will explore topics including:
- building strong foundations,
- communication,
- resolving conflict,
- power of forgiveness,
- family background,
- good sex,
- love in action.
The structure of the course is: tea & coffee, intro, watch DVD, break for dessert, time for private couple discussion and exercises, then a brief wrap up.
